Harry Richards, or "Harry" as he is known amongst the Bay Area's thriving art community, is a 17 year old amateur photographer. Studying under the tutelage of Dr. Adam Thorman, Arizona's best export since the taser, Richards has rapidly evolved from inept Freshman to functionally adequate Senior. Well-traveled and cultured, Harry is obviously inspired not only by the locations he has visited, but also the people and adventures he has had the privilege to experience. In his debut photo series, OXYmoron, Harry explores the idea of opposite. Combining his trademark shallow depth of field and crisp, clean images with his inherently hectic and capricious personality (opposing forces in themselves) makes for the strongest, most riveting work the world may ever see from Richards. The visual and emotional are taken to their limits, and any onlooker fortunate enough to stumble across this diamond in the rough is permitted a brief yet thrilling look past the edge. Harry has given the photography scene only a taste of his creative capabilities, and as I sit in the wake of his brilliance, pondering the all to real prospect of OXYmoron being both his pilot and finale, I cannot help but shed a tear.
